Research and Industrial Experience
Professor Mohamad Ramadan is an Associate Member at UniversitĂ© dâAngers, France and a lecturer at the Lebanese International University. He earned his Ph.D. at MINES Paris â Paris Sciences et Lettres University in France in 2010, with a dissertation entitled « Une mĂ©thode MultiMaillages MultiPhysiques parallĂšle pour accĂ©lĂ©rer les calculs des procĂ©dĂ©s incrĂ©mentaux », which has been integrated into the commercial software Forge3, and his research activities have been conducted in close collaboration with leading industrial partners, including Areva, ArcelorMittal, Aubert & Duval, CĂ©zus, and Manoir Industries.
He serves as an Editor for Encyclopedia of Green Materials, Encyclopedia of Smart Materials, published by ElSevier, and guest editor for Elsevier journals: Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, International Journal of Hydrogen Energy, Science of the Total Environment, Sustainable Computing: Informatics and Systems, and Energy Nexus. He is also a Guest Editor for Taylor & Francis.
He has acted as a reviewer for more than 60 international Q1 peer-reviewed journals. His academic service includes membership on the organizing committees of the SEEP and MSSM conferences (United Kingdom) and chairing sessions at ICEREGA, WHEC, WESCEX, and ICAF (Turkey), as well as ASME ESDA (Denmark).
With over 300 scientific contributions, he has an h-index of 52 and is ranked among the worldâs top 2% of scientists according to the Stanford/Elsevier list, based on Scopus citation data. His international collaborations include serving as a doctoral thesis advisor/director at UniversitĂ© dâAngers (France), City University of London (United Kingdom), and the University of Bari (Italy).

Research and Industrial Experience
Professor Martin Kaltschmitt graduated in Petroleum Engineering and received his Doctor Engineer in the field of renewable energies. He then headed a research group in the field of biomass and renewable energy at Stuttgart University, where he completed his Habilitation. Following research stays at Kingâs College in London and at the University of California at Berkeley, he became the Managing Director of the Leipziger Institute for Energy. In 2006, he was promoted to full professor at Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH), where he heads the Institute of Environmental Technology and Energy Economics (IUE).
Between 2008 and 2010, he was also the scientific Managing Director of the German Biomass Research Centre (DBFZ). He has published more than 25 books and over 300 articles in scientific magazines in the field of renewable energy, with a special focus on biomass and biofuels, and has given more than 500 presentations at scientific conferences and seminars.
In addition, he has served as a short-term consultant for the European Commission, several German ministries, the DFG, the DAAD, the FFG, the GIZ, and others, as well as providing technical consultancy for large companies. He has also carried out various projects in South America, South-East Asia, Africa, and Europe.
